About us
An independent publication about ecommerce development — no paid placements, no platform rankings, no course for sale.
We publish engineering guides about planning, building and running online stores: the basics, platform and stack choice, catalogue and checkout engineering, conversion and growth, and the cost and operational side. Every guide is written and reviewed in house by developers who ship stores, and published with the date of its last review — including when the review changed nothing.
How we pay for it. We design, build and migrate online stores for companies. That work is completely separate from the editorial side: a client cannot be covered more favourably, and no client is named in a guide.
What that means for the guides. No platform, theme shop, app vendor or agency can buy a mention, a ranking or a link. Where a guide recommends an approach, it is because it fits the catalogue and the rules being described. Where we have a commercial relationship with something we discuss, the guide says so in the text.
What we do not do. We do not sell courses or themes, we do not run affiliate links, and we do not accept payment in exchange for coverage.
This field moves. Platform pricing, payment rules and browser behaviour change every few months. We re-review guides on a schedule and re-date them, and where a technique has aged badly we say so in the text instead of quietly deleting it.
Corrections. If something here is wrong or out of date, write to us and we will fix it and re-date the guide. Corrections are made in the text, not quietly.
